UEFA has altered one rule ahead of the Euro final. What does it entail?
This Sunday, July 14, the final of the 2024 European Championship between England and Spain will take place. UEFA has decided to change a rule before this match.
These changes pertain to the award for the best striker of the Euro. Currently, six players have the same number of goals: Olmo, Gakpo, Mikautadze, Kane, Musiala, and Schranz each have three goals. In the final, two players, Kane and Olmo, can take the outright lead.
However, if neither of them scores, all six players will share the title of the tournament's best striker. This is the rule change, as previously, the award would go to the player with the most assists. At the last Euro, Ronaldo and Schick both had five goals, but the Portuguese forward had more assists.
