The 2024 Summer Olympics will commence on Friday, July 26, but the football tournaments kick off earlier. On Thursday, July 25, the first round of the women's football tournament took place.

Twelve teams have arrived for the tournament, divided into three groups. All the matches were played on the first day. The current Olympic champions, Canada, triumphed over New Zealand. The most decorated team, the USA, overcame the modest Zambia.
