Swiss champions Young Boys will be bidding to bounce back from successive defeats at the start of the new season when they head to St Gallen on Sunday afternoon.
St. Gallen:
While the two sides started their seasons with defeats, St. Gallen won in Europe in midweek. Espen opened their campaign with a 1-0 loss at Winterthur. They, however, bounced back with a 4-1 win against Tobol in the Conference League on Thursday. The hosts conceded first in both their matches so far but will be happy at the response in the last game. Their losing start in the league is an extension of a poor run at the tail end of last season. They have just a win in the last five league matches and only two in 10 at home.
BSC Young Boys:
Young Boys haven't had a dream start either; the champions are bottom of the standings going into their third league game. To start off their campaign, they fell 2-1 at home to Sion and it got worse as they lost 3-1 to Servette in the second game. Having scored in both games is perhaps their biggest positive coming into Match Day 3. Young Boys have actually failed to score in just one of their last 11 league matches – a loss to Lugano. Meanwhile, they have only three clean sheets in their last 10 league games. The loss to Servette ended their run of five unbeaten matches away from home and they’ll be keen to rise again. Having not lost to St. Gallen in the last three meetings, Young Boys will be optimistic going into this game.
