As the Manchester United hierarchy finalizes Ruben Amorim's managerial contract, former star striker Ruud van Nistelrooy aims to replicate Wednesday's EFL Cup triumph over Leicester against another team in blue.

With only eight goals in their first nine league matches, United are among five teams yet to reach double digits in scoring this season, alongside Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Southampton, and Ipswich Town. However, Wednesday's five-goal outburst provides a glimmer of hope for an attacking resurgence.

Chelsea under their new coach Enzo Maresca, have shown no signs of struggle in front of goal, largely thanks to Cole Palmer, whose precise finish was decisive in their recent match against Newcastle.

Despite the EFL Cup exit, Chelsea fans might not be overly concerned, as their team is making a surprising push for the Champions League. Currently sitting in fifth place, they are just one point behind Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Historically, the clashes between Chelsea and Manchester United produced five consecutive draws from October 2020 to October 2022. More recently, the encounters have been much more thrilling, with United winning 4-1 at Old Trafford in the 2022-23 season, followed by Chelsea's exhilarating 4-3 victory at Stamford Bridge in one of the standout matches of the 2023-24 campaign.
