Kuwait will aim to reach the Arabian Gulf Cup final for the first time since 2010 as they take on Bahrain at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
Bahrain's strong start to the tournament has seen them reach the knockout stage for the fourth consecutive time. However, their three-match unbeaten run ended on Saturday, leaving them with just two defeats in their last seven international matches. Bahrain has been solid in 2024 when scoring multiple goals, dropping points in only two of their six matches this year. Under Dragan Talajic, they have avoided consecutive competitive defeats, recovering from a loss to China with a draw against Australia.
Kuwait, making their first semi-final appearance since 2013, have impressed under former Bahrain manager Juan Antonio Pizzi, going unbeaten in the group stage. A win would extend their unbeaten run to four matches, matching their longest streak of the year. Despite a poor recent record in the semi-finals, with four defeats in their last five appearances, they’ve shown resilience after a difficult lead-up to the tournament.
Kuwait’s only win in the group came after conceding first against the UAE, while they’ve struggled against Bahrain, not winning in this competition since 2013 when they triumphed 6-1.
