Champions League Round of 16 1st Leg,Can Dortmund remain unbeaten on the road?
After enduring three consecutive losses in qualifying, PSV Eindhoven made a triumphant return to the top tier earlier this season, finishing second in Group B behind Arsenal. A victory against Lens broke a 15-game winless streak in the Champions League group stage, while holding Sevilla and Arsenal to home draws maintained an impressive undefeated run at Philips Stadion. With this being their fifth appearance in the knockout phase, and only the second in 17 seasons, PSV aims to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2007.
Despite a less successful domestic season compared to PSV, Borussia Dortmund topped a competitive Group F before Christmas, finishing ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, and Newcastle United. The German side had a slow start with a 2-0 loss in Paris and a draw at home against Milan. However, they turned their campaign around by defeating Newcastle twice and securing progress with a 3-1 win at San Siro. Unlike Tuesday's hosts, Dortmund has been a regular presence in the last 16 over the past decade, reaching this stage in five of the last six seasons, though three of the last four ended in elimination. Coach Edin Terzic's team, currently out of the Bundesliga title race, remains unbeaten in their last nine games across all competitions.
