Wolves return to Molineux for the second time this week as the Old Gold face a Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth under the lights.
Wolves face Bournemouth in a mid-table, midweek Premier League contest. Both teams will be pushing to land a win to turn around a poor run of form in recent weeks. The home side have not won any of their last five, losing three, drawing two. Two of those defeats have come in their last two home games (v West Ham and v Arsenal). Gary O’Neil’s team sit 11th in the table on 43 points from 33 games and their recent run of poor form has effectively ended any chances they may have had of stealing a potential Europa Conference League spot next season. Defeat here would also see their opponents leapfrog both Fulham and themselves in the Premier League table.
That will be the aim for Bournemouth and their manager Andoni Iraola. His team have been very streaky performers this campaign. By that we mean stringing together sets of good results together over several games, but also having poor runs of results over a run of games. Currently, the Cherries are without a win in their last three and they have lost both their last two away games (at Luton and then at Aston Villa). Dominic Solanke has been a key player for them this season, netting an impressive 18 Premier League goals. Iraola will need his star striker to be at his best if they are to end their run of winless games at Molineux against a team that beat them earlier this season.
