Celje and Flora will face off in the second leg of their Champions League first-round qualifying match, with Celje enjoying a commanding lead.
Celje demonstrated their superiority in the first leg, opening the scoring just seven minutes in through Aljosa Matko. They swiftly doubled their lead three minutes later courtesy of centre-back Damir Vukicevic. Despite missing a penalty soon after, Celje continued their onslaught with Mark Zabukovnik adding a third before halftime, followed by goals from Rolando Aarons and Tamar Svetelin in the second half to complete a comprehensive victory.
The result extends Celje's impressive scoring streak to 16 consecutive competitive matches since February. They are now on the brink of reaching the second round of Champions League qualifying for only the second time in their history
In contrast, Flora struggled to make an impact in the first leg, managing just one shot on target and maintaining only 31% possession at home. They failed to earn a single corner, highlighting their difficulties against Celje's solid defense and relentless attack.
Following their disappointing performance, Flora's head coach Norbert Hurt resigned from his position, with Under-21s coach Taavi Viik taking over temporarily. Hurt's tenure since returning to the club in December saw Flora win only half of their 20 league games this season, trailing league leaders Levadia by a considerable margin.
