Brighton vs Wolves live preview Premier League
Brighton:
Brighton won 4-2 against Stoke in the FA Cup which was their second match of the calendar year, following a goalless draw against West Ham in the league. In fact, that made it two games and two losses in all competitions for the Sea Gulls. Going slightly further back, they have lost just once, but only four wins and three draws across eight competitive games suggest a lack of cutting edge. That is prominent in the league where Brighton have won only three of their last 14 matches although losing four in the sequence. At home though, they are almost a force of nature, winning four and drawing four of their last eight league games.
Wolves:
Wolves are coming off a 3-2 win over Brentford in the FA Cup, which came via extra time. That result continued their impressive resurgence with four wins and a draw across their last five competitive matches. For a team that was once loitering around the bottom-three, the Wolves have turned things around in style in the league. They have won four of their last six league games including three in a row. While this overall form is a cause for optimism, their away form leaves a lot to be desired. The visitors have lost four of their last five Premier League road trips although that win has come in their latest such match.
Analysis:
Only three points separate these two teams on the opposite trajectories as the Brighton side is sliding down the table while the Wolves are dashing up. This has been a fixture that the Seagulls have dominated of late with four wins in a row, but make no mistake – this Wolves side is going to be a lot tougher to beat. They have shown it in the recent games that they can scale their game up and that could prove to be a difficult proposition for the hosts
