Real Betis will be looking to secure their first win of the 2024-25 La Liga season as they host Leganes at Estadio Benito Villamarint.
Real Betis' 2024-25 La Liga season has so far been lackluster, with the team managing only two draws and one loss from their opening three matches, and scoring just once.
Under Manuel Pellegrini, Betis drew their first two league games against Girona and Alaves, before suffering a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid, the reigning champions, just before the international break. However, they have enjoyed success in European competition, winning both legs of their Conference League playoff against Kryvbas 2-0 away and 3-0 at home, advancing to the group stage.
Currently positioned 17th in La Liga, Betis will be looking to capitalize on their upcoming run of three consecutive home games against Leganes, Getafe, and Mallorca to climb the standings. Last season, Pellegrini's side finished seventh, a slight dip from their consistent top-six finishes between 2021 and 2023.
Leganes, returning to La Liga after winning the Segunda Division in 2023-24, have made a respectable start to their campaign. With five points from their first four matches, they sit in ninth place. Their season began with a 1-1 draw against Osasuna, followed by a 2-1 win over Las Palmas, marking their first top-flight victory since July 2020. They then drew 0-0 with Real Valladolid but fell 1-0 to Mallorca just before the break.
Leganes have had a competitive edge in recent encounters with Real Betis, winning three of their last seven La Liga meetings. The teams also played to a goalless draw in their last clash in February 2020.
Prediction: Real Betis 2-1 Leganes
