Valencia seeks to secure only their second La Liga win of the 2024-25 season as they visit Estadio Municipal de Butarque to face Leganes.

Leganes secured their spot in La Liga by winning the 2023-24 Segunda Division, marking their return to the top flight after a four-year absence. Any finish above 18th place this season would be seen as a success for the team.

Currently sitting in 16th with seven points from their first eight matches, Leganes has demonstrated a commendable defensive record, conceding only nine goals despite their position. Borja Jimenez’s side started the season well, remaining unbeaten in their first three games with draws against Osasuna and Real Valladolid, along with a 2-1 home victory over Las Palmas.

On the other hand, Valencia has had a challenging start to the campaign, recording one win, two draws, and five defeats from their eight matches, placing them in 18th position with five points. They only managed one point from their first five games but finally secured their first win of the season on September 21 with a 2-0 victory over Girona at Mestalla.

Following a goalless draw with Osasuna, Valencia faced a setback with a 3-0 loss to Real Sociedad, bringing their total goals conceded this season to 13. Ruben Baraja’s team finished ninth in La Liga last year but has struggled to find form this season, looking far from the squad that last finished fourth in 2018-19.
