Aston Villa aims to re-enter the Premier League's top four as they head to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.

Fulham enjoyed a five-game unbeaten run, earning 11 points, but faced a setback with a 3-2 loss against Manchester City before the international break. The Cottagers took an early lead with Andreas Pereira's goal, yet missed chances haunted them as City came back with two goals from Mateo Kovacic and one from Jeremy Doku. Rodrigo Muniz's late goal was merely a consolation.

Now sitting eighth in the Premier League, Fulham is just three points behind fifth-placed Aston Villa, and manager Marco Silva hopes the defeat will instill "courage" and "confidence" in his players moving forward. 

On the other hand, Aston Villa is on an eight-game unbeaten run across all competitions since a loss to Arsenal in late August, including three straight wins and two draws in the Premier League. Their recent 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League followed draws against Ipswich Town and Manchester United, where they secured their first league clean sheet since April.

Before a series of three consecutive home matches, Villa travels to Fulham having lost just one of their last 12 Premier League games in London, with eight victories under Unai Emery matching their total from the previous 48 top-flight games in the capital.
