Southampton will be aiming for only their second Premier League win of the 2024-25 season when they visit Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.
Palace, coming off two straight losses to Arsenal, bounced back with a solid 0-0 draw at Bournemouth on Boxing Day. They now face three consecutive home games, including Premier League matches against Southampton and Chelsea, followed by an FA Cup clash with Stockport County on January 12. Despite sitting 16th and just three points above the relegation zone, Palace have won only three league games this season and have struggled at home, earning just seven points from nine matches.
Southampton, bottom of the table with just six points from 18 matches, felt hard done by in their 1-0 loss to West Ham, with Jarrod Bowen scoring the only goal. Their attack has been the worst in the league, netting just 11 goals. Juric, who started as head coach on Thursday, has a tough job ahead to keep the team in the Premier League. After this match, the Saints have two home fixtures against Brentford and Swansea, and will be hoping for a positive result to build momentum.
