Group C leaders England will be looking to maintain their 100% start to the tournament when they go head to head with Denmark at the ground of Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening.
Denmark:
Despite the draw with Slovenia, the Danes come into this game unbeaten in their last five, having won three and drawn two. In fact, they have lost just once in the past two years, a 2-0 defeat last November away to Northern Ireland.
Denmark also has a good recent record against England. In the last seven matches between the two teams, the Danes have won three, England three, and one game has been drawn. They also pushed England very hard in the semi-finals in Euro 2020, forcing extra-time before losing to a penalty from Harry Kane that Kasper Schmeichel saved, only for Kane to score the rebound.
You can be assured the Danes will want to avenge that loss here!
England:
While England drew plaudits for their defensive work in the 1-0 win over Serbia, their attacking tactics and shape were criticized. So too their ability to break up the Serbian possession in the second half. Could that tempt Gareth Southgate into making a change or two?
That's doubtful. The win over Serbia was just England's second win in their last six games (2 draws, 2 defeats). The victory should have given the players a boost in confidence, despite the fact that the team faded after a solid first-half display.
Manager Southgate has shown he tends not to change winning teams too often in major tournaments.
Even with a fully fit and booking-free squad to pick from. He'll need to see much more from his attacking players though against tricky opponents in the shape of Denmark.
While England may not be ready to change things of yet, Danish boss Kasper Hjulmand may decide to.
Prediction: Denmark 0-1 England
